God's Nature
Isn’t it amazing to reflect that God so beautifully and simply spoke the world into creation? With His word, he spoke the galaxies, the world, and nature into creation with ease. He also effortlessly, beautifully and lovingly breathed life into us. Similar to how He created the beauty in the world with ease, nature goes about its business with ease, without effort. Think about how nature works. I found this quote recently that was so beautiful, "Nature does not rush, yet it accomplishes everything." Nature does not strive, yet it accomplishes everything. Nature does not compete or compare with the flower next to it, it simply emerges and blooms as it was created to be, where it is planted.
We can apply these ideas to our own lives. Just like nature we don’t need to rush, we can take our time. We can choose to stride, rather than run, strive or force. We can choose to slow down, do less, and His plan will still be accomplished, and maybe even better so because we have more time with Him! The same applies to God. God does not rush, yet He accomplishes everything. Nature also accepts who it is and what it is created to do. God made us exactly as we are, fearfully and wonderfully made, perfect in his handiwork, perfect in his art, so rather than compete and compare ourselves to others, we can accept we are perfectly imperfect as God created us, accept who we are, and choose to bloom and grow where we are in what we are meant to do. I also read in a book recently that we aren’t meant to become anything but to be WITH him. Doesn’t that ease you a little bit, ease this sense of needing to strive to BECOME something and feel a sense of relaxation into who you are, slowing down your pace and striving and spend more time with Him?
So where can you be more like God and nature today, to slow down your daily pace? Are there areas of your life that you compare yourself to others and compete with others? Can you take some time to reflect on accepting yourself as fearfully and wonderfully made as you are?
